Get Camera Ready this Holiday Season with Photo Rejuvenation!

The holidays are right around the corner and with them come all sorts of photo ops. If you’re feeling less than camera ready, you might want to consider booking one of our photo rejuvenation sessions. Between the natural (and often unforgiving) aging process, sun exposure, and skin conditions like rosacea, you might be noticing an increase in redness, sunspots, or just all around uneven skin tone.

Photo rejuvenation is a popular solution for these issues, offering a non-invasive way to restore a smoother, healthier complexion. Our photo rejuvenation options use advanced technologies to treat all (change “all” to “most” please) skin types with minimal discomfort and impressive results.

Benefits of Photo Rejuvenation

Photo rejuvenation provides multiple benefits, from reducing wrinkles and sun damage to improving skin texture and tone. It’s also effective for treating facial redness, flushing, and hyperpigmentation. By targeting these skin imperfections, photo rejuvenation boosts self-confidence and enhances your skin’s natural glow. In other words, you’ll be ready for your closeup.

Two Powerful Treatments: Alexandrite Laser & IPL

At Abington Aesthetic, we offer two main photo rejuvenation treatments:

  1. Alexandrite Laser (Cynosure Apogee Elite): This option is ideal for addressing sunspots, background redness, and facial veins. A laser treatment that requires no numbing, our clients also report little to no discomfort. After one to three sessions, you can expect to see significant improvements. We simply ask that you avoid tanning and retinoids before treatment for optimal results.
  2. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL): IPL uses broad-spectrum light, making it a great alternative for treating redness and brown spots without a laser. Like the Alexandrite laser, IPL is gentle, requiring no numbing and offering minimal discomfort. Should you choose to explore this avenue, please avoid tanning and blood thinners on treatment days.

Understanding How Photo Rejuvenation Works

By way of basic explanation, photo rejuvenation treatments involve delivering pulses of intense light to the skin, stimulating collagen production. This boost in collagen softens the skin, reduces wrinkles, and minimizes rosacea-related redness. A typical treatment lasts 15-45 minutes, and for best results, three to five sessions spaced four weeks apart are recommended. Most clients notice a smoother texture after just one treatment, with cumulative improvements after each session.

What to Expect During Treatment

Typically, our clients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping on the skin. Temporary redness and flaking may occur post-treatment, but these side effects are minimal. For long-lasting results, a follow-up session each year can maintain your skin’s youthful appearance, especially for those treating rosacea.
